Umbrellaworld have got Lily covered at the Brits

Dancers put on a brolly good show at the Brits to usher in singer Lily Allen, above, –
the opening act at the glitzy ceremony – with help from a Bolton business.
Online retailer Umbrellaworld, run by Rebecca and Chris Brayshaw,
supplied executive walking brollies and clear and hot pink dome versions used as props by
the dance troupe in their set at Tuesday night’s event.
Rebecca said: “We were contacted late last week by the people responsible for the
stage show who had been searching for some suitable umbrellas. We jumped at
the chance – it was a very exciting opportunity for us.”
The couple set up Umbrellaworld four years ago and run a retail division selling to
individuals in the UK and worldwide. Around a third of orders come from overseas,
including Japan, Australia, the United States and Ethiopia.
Last September they established a corporate division supplying brollies to companies.
Their umbrellas are in demand from the showbiz world – they have provided several dozen f
or the opening scene of the movie All The Way Up, which is being directed by Sir David Jason
and will be launched at the Cannes Film Festival in May.

Visited the Business NW exhibition on the 28th and had a really good day. Did speed Networking for first time which was an eye opener!! Was really good and managed to meet 25 plus businesses in just over an hour so was really worthwhile.....needed a drink after it though! Fingers crossed we will meet some of them agaion in the journey to produce branded umbrellas for them and their clients!

Just to update everyone on the postal strike and how it is affecting orders! Well we have taken the decision to hold the majority of order deliveries until Monday the 26th as we have found that the first batch of umbrellas that get posted during a strike are usually the ones to go missing. So in the hope that as few as possible will go astray we hope you will undertsnad and accept the possible couple of days delay in receiving your umbrellas. If you urgently need an umbrella give us a quick call and we can organise a courier to deliver it for you.
Also as an added bonus we have taken the decision to send all parcels recorded delivery at no extra charge. We hope this in some way compensates any disruption and ensures our customers stay happy with our service. It would be lovely to have any feedback on this to know we are doing a good job!!

The Postal Strike!!! Unfortunately it seems the strike will be going ahead on Thursday and Friday this week, which to be honest is making us go grey just thinking about it! We can only apologise now for any issues this may cause with our umbrellas reaching you and hope that you can give us a little time to rectify any problems that crop up. Fingers crossed the problems will be minimal but as we know you are aware, it is totally out of our hands. We will do whatever we can to have as few disruptions as possible. As of 1st March Fulton have increased there price across the range, this has not come lightly. They have not done this for the last 8 years, but due to the every increasing production costs this has been inevitable. We have kept our prices the same where we can until our stocks run out at the old price.
